Product Reviews

Izziwotnot's Bailey Sleigh cot bed isn't the most expensive, but it's stylish and well-constructed. It's easy to put together, though it requires two people. It looks lovely in any nursery. The panel we used was a fan of the dark wood and the dowel sides, and is strong enough to last until your baby turns toddler. It also meets British safety standards - the depth isn't that deep that your baby can climb out and the distance between the slats shouldn't be more than 65mm. This should stop their head from getting trapped. You will also need to buy a mattress that costs an additional PS88.

The sleigh shape of this cot is really beautiful and makes it stand out from the others. It's also very simple to put your baby in and out of, which is a big benefit. It's slightly more expensive than other cot beds, however our panel thought it was worth the extra cost for the look and the durability.

The cot bed is available in two different rustic pine or walnut finishes and is suitable for babies from birth. It comes with three mattress heights, so you can start your baby starting with the base raised up to make it easier to get to them throughout the day and at later lower it as they grow. It has teething rails that protect your child's furniture and gums. Once your baby grows out of the cot bed it is able to be easily transformed to a junior bed and then a sofa.

The westport design from Silver Cross is another cot that is sturdy and made to last. It can be used as a cot starting at birth, later as an infant bed, and then to become a junior bed (toddler guard rails are sold separately). It was a little challenging for our panel members to convert the cot into a bed, but their other halves said it was easy and took less than 5 minutes. It's more expensive than other models but you'll want keep it for your children when they grow up.
